There are many types of different head shops out there today, that vary in quality and what they specialize in. Now, we are going to break down each one of these options so you know exactly what your choices are! But if you are in a hurry and read nothing else, head to the last paragraph to see our conclusion. First up, however, let's go over what glass galleries are.
Galleries
Glass Galleries are the “top end” of the smoke shop spectrum. They are where glass artists go to display their creations. They boast higher-end products like the hooties forest bong! The level of detail that is put into these glass pieces is bar none. The meticulous designs require a high level of craftsmanship. Above what it takes to make the regular simple functional piece of smoke ware. Glass galleries are more for display than they are for shopping. They are where you go to be impressed by the highest level of glassblowers. They search out these galleries to be able to display their work, and we highly recommend that you search one out at some point in your life to give these fabulous creations a visit. Let us go over the pros and cons of the galleries.
Pros:
- High-quality one-of-a-kind art.
- An experience comparable to regular art galleries.
- You can meet the maker.
Cons:
- Highly expensive
- Not many locations.
- Can’t be delivered to your door with minimal effort.
So to sum it up glass galleries are a lot of fun to go to, but in reality, they might not be the best place to find your next daily hitter. However, if you are looking to treat yourself to the highest quality of pieces, check our highest quality bongs right here.
Smoke Shops
Ahh, the classic smoke shops. These stores are what instilled a love for functional glass art in us. There is one in almost every town, and they have the goal of providing the subculture in the community with smoking accessory options. More often than not they are run by extremely affable and creative members of your community. And they also provide you the option of actual herb that you can smoke. Not our favorite kind of herb though. Tobacco herb… But, to each their own. In our experience community, smoke shops are a good place to make memories and to find a piece that you can connect with. However. It isn’t all bright side with smoke shops we have found. Let's go over the pros and cons, of these shops.
Pros:
- Shopping local is always great!
- A wide array of options.
- Have a face to look at and speak to.
Cons:
- Might not have exactly what you are looking for in stock.
- Can be more expensive than other modern options.
- Have to physically go to the store to even see what options are available.
In short, we love smoke shops for all of the glass options that they have provided us throughout the years. They really are what inspired us to get into this industry. However, as we have progressed into the modern world. We have developed modern needs. Being able to browse a wide collection instantly, from anywhere, AND have any time shipped directly to your door is a luxury that does not come with your local headshop. Also, sometimes the collection in some smoke shops has disappointed us. Not to mention the insane premium they charge for whatever piece you want! These are just some of the observations that we have made over the years about these brick-and-mortar businesses. However, that does not mean that we do not love them. Next up, let's talk about corner stores and gas stations.
Corner Stores / Gas Stations
Corner stores and gas stations are considered the lowest quality options when it comes to finding smoking accessories. Their focus is not on providing you with a high-quality smoking accessory, it is to monopolize on your immediate need for a smoking accessory! We know that that is a little harsh, but it is the truth. However, the one good thing about getting your smoking accessory from a bodega is the immediate convenience. They are typically a lot closer to you than your local smoke shop, and will typically have cheaper pieces. Just don’t plan on it being a forever piece. And hey, if you are looking for a piece that is super affordable, check out our sale page. Alright, lets go over the pros and cons of these little corner stores.
Pros:
- Close to you.
- Can give you the basics, immediately.
- You can also get snacks while you are purchasing your items!
Cons:
- Horrible quality items.
- Small selection.
- Convenience premium charge.
So if you are in a pinch, and really don’t have anything to smoke out of, these may just be the option for you. However, we advise that if you can afford to shop elsewhere and find a piece that will last you twice as long, you should do that. Though that is just our advice and you never have to take it. (But you should)
Dispensaries
Dispensaries are a fun place to find your smoking accessory. Getting a smoking accessory while shopping for your magical herb is like killing two birds with one stoner. Jokes aside, dispensaries aren’t the worst place to pick up a piece. It is a good way of showing loyalty to your dispensary, and of getting to know your local budtenders on another level. However, if you are looking for something specific or a piece that is going to last you a long time, dispensaries are not going to be your best option simply because that is not their focus. It is their side thing. Let's run over the pros and cons.
Pros:
- Show support to a local dispensary.
- Typically get smaller branded accessories.
- Killing two birds with one stone.
Cons:
- Not a wide selection.
- Typically only smaller pieces.
- Normally must be paid in cash.
So if you find yourself at a physical dispensary actually in need of a new piece. Do it! But if you want to find something specific, or browse each piece and get a close-up look at it, then you should keep reading through the next paragraph.

- FREE shipping on most orders!
- DISCREETLY delivered to your door! What’s not to love!
Cons:
- Can’t waste gas going to the store.
- Have to look through amazing options instead of crappy ones.
- Saving a bunch of time that I could have wasted!
