Unlike bong bowls, bangers typically have an angle that you need to pay attention to as well. The angle corresponds to the angle of your piece/rig. Typically they only come in the 45-degree angle and the 90-degree angle So remember, when purchasing a quartz banger think about what size, and angle you want before you buy. This will save you from unneeded stress in the future. 

What is a downstem?

Downstems are a component of the bong. The downstem is a glass stem that connects the bong bowl, to the bong itself. Typically they are made out of borosilicate glass, and have a few little slots cut into the bottom of them. These little slots provide diffusion for your rips. The whole purpose of a bong is to diffuse your rip. Introducing air into the water that filters the smoke from your rips. This whole process cools your rip down making it a much smoother experience. 

The downstem is a part of the bong that often gets forgotten about... until it breaks that is. Without a downstem, you might have some luck using your bong, but it won’t be anything near its full potential. Downstems come in many different sizes so it is important to know the length that you require when purchasing. If your downstem is too long, it will hit against the base of the bong, preventing it from fully sealing. If your downstem is too small it may still seal but it will sit far above the ideal water level.
