What Is a Water Pipe?

How to Keep it Clean?
You’ll need to clean your pipe regularly to get rid of the ash, resin, and bacteria that can build up over time. While you’ll want to empty the water after every use, you’ll also want to thoroughly clean it using alcohol or a special cleaning solution. You may also want to get pipe cleaners and other tools to wipe off spots that can be hard to reach. Remember, the longer you go without cleaning, the harder it will be to clean.
How Much Water is Needed?
The amount of water that should go into your bong completely depends on the size and shape. This is a key thing to figure out if you are going to be able to get the perfect amount of water into your piece.
A good rule of thumb is to add water until the water level is just about your downstem. If you have percolators, fill them up until the very bottom of them is just covered in water. The key thing to look out for is getting water inside your mouth. You don't want that horrible taste to ever touch your lips. (Trust us.)
What About Ice?
Putting ice in your water pipe is like adding an extra layer of warmth on a cold day. You don’t have to do it, but it really helps when you do.
When your hits are cooler, your rips are smoother. This means that if you give your smoke the chance to cool off ever so slightly on some ice inside of your water bong, your rips will be smoother and you will be happier for it.
Can You Take Dabs With Them?
Short answer, yes! You just need to determine the joint size of and find a quality quartz banger that would fit that joint.
From there, you will need your dabbing essentials. This includes a torch, a dab tool, and a carb cap. With these things in mind, you can turn any bong into a dab rig without question.
